Vision
You can make a difference. Develop basic health care skills to combine with God’s love for the poor and needy and you can bring hope and healing into communities. Challenge yourself to step out and serve the poor and needy, for we are called not only to teach but to DO.
Primary health care can make a big difference... it can change communities and save lives.
Anyone who has a heart for the poor and needy can join our health care ministries. No experience necessary! We will train and work beside you as you grow in your understanding of basic health care skills and you will be able to join us on local clinics and teachings.
For those who have already completed the IPHC course, you are able to get more involved by teaching seminars, participating in outreach trips, and more! We aim to serve within Indonesia and beyond.
“Primary health care is about the basics... you don’t have to be a doctor or a nurse to help and show a little love.”
“I like primary health care because it’s a way I can reach and touch people.”
“Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18
Health care ministries have a few different focuses:

Local Visits
Visiting the sick or mother’s groups in our community, and thereby building relationships with our neighbours. Offering to take blood pressures or presenting basic health education is an open door into these communities.

Mobile Clinics
Working alongside of a local church or local ministry we offer free health care visits to the poor areas where the church ministers.

Slum Visits
Visiting a slum area and offering simple health teachings to the children by using drama, songs, pictures and interaction. Topics might include dental hygiene, nutrition or hand washing.

Primary Health Care Seminars
A 2 week seminar that we offer to teach at YWAM bases to give basic health education which would help the local staff as they minister in their respective communities. Topics include: Wound care, skin diseases, worms, food and nutrition, water and sanitation, and more.

Local Teachings
Teaching various groups connected with our base such as Soccer Ministry or base staff about essential health care knowledge.

Village Trips
A “mini outreach” of a few days or weeks, where we can join with a village area in need of primary health care and hold a clinic for the sick, present health teachings, and follow up on sick patients.

Primary Health Care Internship
Can be available for IPHC students who wish to focus longer on developing their primary health care skills. We may participate in local clinics, teachings, research, receive further training in primary health care, outreaches and/or seminars.
